#46: Gerald Ford
Even some of our Presidents have surprises, though, to me, the law school part is almost as much of a revelation as the football. Even though we’ve since gotten used to people coming out of strange places and into the Oval Office, it’s still pretty remarkable for this Commander-In-Chief to have almost been a sportsman.

It’s possible that his sporting background even had an impact on some of Ford’s policies in ways that no one ever discovered. For all we know, his attitude to Vietnam, the Middle East, inflation, and abortion were all a product of his days as a center linebacker as much as they were a product of his days in Law School.
