Dan Dierdorf – St Louis. Cardinals
Dierdorf, drafted by the Cardinals in 1971, initially faced limited starts amid a struggling team from 1971 to 1973. However, when he took on the role of right tackle in 1974, the Cardinals’ fortunes improved significantly. Alongside Conrad Dobler and Tom Banks, their defensive line allowed just eight sacks in 14 games between 1974 and 1978, with Dierdorf preventing sacks in 1976 and 1977.

While his on-field contributions were notable, his Hall of Fame induction came after transitioning into broadcasting, sparking debates about whether it fully reflects his playing career or also acknowledges his post-retirement broadcasting success.
