#12: Avoiding Movies, TV, and Secular Entertainment
Hare Krishnas try to stay away from most mainstream entertainment. It’s not about being anti-fun — it’s more about limiting influences that stir up anxiety, envy, fear, or craving. Instead, they gravitate toward music, stories, and activities that uplift or calm the mind.

Many devotees say this creates a surprising amount of mental space. Without constant media noise, life feels quieter and more intentional. People read more, spend more time together, or dive into hobbies. It becomes a conscious trade: less stimulation, more connection.
